Stephen Skrynka has previously worked as Visiting Tutor at Glasgow School of Art (Environmental Art and Sculpture) and currently teaches stained glass art at the independent Partickhill School of Art .

His work has been exhibited in Cologne, New York, Barcelona and throughout Scotland including, The Gallery of Modern Art , Kelvingrove Art Gallery and The Fruitmarket. He has an MA from Glasgow School of Art, a BA (hons) in Architecture and a City and Guilds (gold medal) in cabinetmaking.

Previously apprenticed to furniture maker John Makepeace OBE and also worked as assistant to artist Danny Lane. Currently he is building a Wall of Death from scratch in Granard, Ireland with the two men who inspired the film Eat the Peach. They will be performing together on the wall late Summer 2018.

Stephen Skrynka’s work often involves learning other people’s trades (eg taxi driver, hearse chauffeur, Wall of Death rider) and creating artworks out of the process. His work strongly embraces Baldessari’s notion that “Art comes out of failure. You have to try things out.”
