with 'Framing the Circle'

Framing the Circle is a performance that offers an analogue cinematic experience. The viewer’s gaze is framed, inviting everyone to become the director of their own film – moving around the dancers as they dance in a circle. The performance blurs the line between the performer and the audience.

In Framing the Circle, the viewer's gaze is framed. Everyone becomes his own camera, turning around the dancers.
A circle dance appears and the viewer becomes author of his own film: the border between performer and viewer is blurred.
Framing the Circle is a performance that offers an analogue cinematic experience as possible.
As in his other installations and performances for the public space, Benjamin Vandewalle is interested in this performance to perception. He choreographs our eyes, he transforms the public space into scenography and all those who are there in performers.

Supported by IN SITU, the European platform for artistic creation in public space, in the frame of the project ACT, co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
