PLACCC Festival 2022

01 sept. > 13 sept.

Budapest, Hungary

Although 2022 can clearly be considered a difficult year, the invited artists attempt to reflect on the events taking place at home and in the world with the tools of art. We contrast political and social apathy with the possibility of horizontal, direct democratic dialogue, climate panic with understanding through the senses, post-pandemic trauma with moving together, and with the invited Ukrainian and Belarusian performances, we want to directly respond to the war situation that has lasted for half a year now.

The programs of Placcc 2022 have been grouped around four watchwords:

Discuss, Sense, Move, Feel.

The British Kaleider collective Pig c. installation and Renáta Szabó Bridge. his performative action aims to open space for dialogue with the help of art, through the creations.

Two in One Our everyday circuses c. his site-specific lecture, as well as Máté Mészáros's The Mechanics of Distance. his participation walk explores public spaces through joint movement, the Meetlab troupe Laser Tricycle c. and his public action will be in constant motion in the city.

Finally, while the Ukrainian Daria Pugachova I will close the sky so you could breathe c. his public performance attempts to artistically process fleeing from war, while the Belarusian creative quartet Igor Shugaleev, Sergey Shabohin, Alexandra Kononchenko and Marina Dashuk The body your are calling is not available c. through his production, we can viscerally feel the horrors of the repression of the authoritarian regime.
