The relationship between humans and cities being a central narrative in her work, she tests possible appropriations of the public realm via participatory practices, architectural performances and urban interventions.

Anna Rispoli is born in Italy and is now based in Brussels. She is one of the founding members of the Italian collective ZimmerFrei (50th Art Biennale in Venice, Manifesta 07, the Biennale of Valencia, Thessaloniki Documentary Film Festival, Visions du Réel in Nyon, International Film Festival of Rome, Torino Film Festival, Ghent Film Festival...) . The relationship between humans and cities being a central narrative in her work, she tests possible appropriations of the public realm via participatory practices, architectural performances and urban interventions.

In her solo work, Anna Rispoli uses the common spaces unexpectedly, through participatory practices. She questions the conceptual possibilities and aesthetic options between public and private spaces. With ZimmerFrei, she creates visual and sound installations exploring real and imaginary environments where mental and physical spaces are merged into a personal story.
