Biography

Éléa Sajous is a dancer, choreographer and writer currently based between Tangier and Toulouse. Formerly trained in contemporary dance, interpretation and choreographic composition, she is now making her way through multidisciplinary artistic experiences and researches.

She is a dancer in the latest piece of the Hna-ya company (Morocco), as well as in her own co-creation, « GAP » (Yassine Abouhamid and Éléa Sajous). In this dynamic, she is also one of the founder of the 3/3 collective, a French and Moroccan multidisciplinary collective, based on collective research, creation and networking.

Éléa’s work is often related to the imagination, the sensations, the sense of identity and growth, as well as the dynamics of social codes and conducts. Her approach can be described as quite poetical, in the movement as well as in the way she writes and makes use of these words. After releasing her first poems recollection in 2020 (« Par-dessus sens », Édilivre editions), she used her poems in a visual arts perspective during a collective exhibition. She is now researching in the field of spoken words and poetic performance, as a way to bring body and verbal expression together.

Artistic project

NO BRAKES is a multidisciplinary solo performance by Éléa Sajous, blending contemporary dance and spoken word to question the place of women in public spaces through an eco-feminist, urban, and rural lens. Inspired by her own experiences, the artist explores how women navigate these spaces, balancing freedom and insecurity, using the bicycle as a symbol of movement, empowerment, and vulnerability.

This ongoing project alternates between studio research and biking exploration, where the moving body becomes both a tool for reflection and expression.
