Dedriving code / Code de la déconduite

© Yves Humel

We know very little about what we CAN DO in public space. However, we are constantly reminded of what we CANNOT DO.
As a result public space is distorted, conceived without desire, designed essentially by safety rules.
Reminiscent of the Highway Code, the Dedriving Code serves as a guide to the creative use of public space.

Conceived by the artists from Xtnt, in collaboration with lawyers from all over Europe, the Dedriving Code is a 2
year project which premieres in Norwich for Norfolk & Norwich Festival 2015 with a first series of experiments.
These actions will be photographed and form the images for the forthcoming Dedriving Code publication: a tool, a self-defense weapon,  something you can pull out in any circumstance when you’re trying to have a public life!
