Secretàrium is an artistic and sociological project that explores the nature of human secrets through their anonymous collection, encouraging reflection on the emotions, values and associated social dynamics. It is not interested in state secrets or digital privacy, but in the role that secrets play in cultural relations.
The piece is located in The Secretariat, in a public environment. There, participants can share a secret anonymously. Once the secret is given, they are invited to enter The Warehouse of Secrets, an installation where The Secretary, the character of the piece, guides them through a journey that takes them into the world of secrets. At the end of the visit, each participant receives, in exchange for their own, a secret from someone in another part of the world, thus establishing a distant and at the same time intimate connection with another reality.
The collected secrets are analysed from a sociological perspective to identify emotional patterns and cultural differences, and the results are presented in the form of data and comparative reflections through a website. With a sustainable scenography, Secretàrium wants to provide data and knowledge to participants and festivals in a creative way, and invites us to introspection and cultural dialogue.
