Kaleider’s Arch is an attempt to construct a freestanding arch, made of concrete and ice. We don’t know how long the arch will remain standing. It seems straightforward, but that’s not how you feel when you look at it. Arch touches on themes of death, renewal, and hope in a unique blend of breath, physicality, and collapse.
Arch delves into the extraordinary yet flawed systems that humans create. Systems upon which we have become dependent: language, economies, architecture, democracy… And which inevitably impact our ecosystem and ourselves. A very physical performance, sometimes meditative, then gripping, that appears very down to earth but makes you feel the opposite.
