with Meetlab, Dàvid Somló, Eva Bubla

In 2024, instead of the "usual" PLACCC Dance in May, we will present PLACCC Extra, in the framework of which the XI. and II. we present public programs in the district.

Within the framework of the Space Reservation program of the Capital City Municipality and Pro Cultura Urbis, we present four artists and collectives who are connected in different ways to the XI. and II. district. The Meetlab collective has been the XI. operates its base in the district, Dávid Somló has his own XI. regularly organizes apartment performances in her apartment in the district, and Éva Bubla appeared in the district with smaller public events. On the other hand, Kata Juhasz II. has been active in the district as a doctor and artist for many years.

The public art works included in PLACCC's Extra program offer active involvement to the participants instead of mere public spectacles, they offer the experience of experiencing the city districts in a different way (which makes them local and strengthens the connection), but on the other hand, they touch on more global issues. The projects respond to urban life and environmental challenges, they help the sensory mapping of the urban space and ecosystem, and the (re)connection to it.
