A scholar and researcher on new urban public spaces, Marc El Samrani is the associate citizen of Lieux publics
Marc El Samrani graduated in 2018 with a master’s degree in architecture from USEK in Lebanon and a DPEA in Scenography from the National School of Architecture in Montpellier, which he obtained in 2020.
He is currently preparing a doctoral thesis at the LIFAM lab in the Architecture School of Montpellier and the University Paul Valéry – Montpellier 3. Through his research he is focusing on Cultural and digital mediation in the creation of new urban public spaces as a way to address social isolation through the user’s spatial experience.
For two years, and as part of his thesis, he has been working at L’Atelline, lieu d’activation art & espace public, a cultural structure based in Juvignac, in the Montpellier metropolis, that accompanies creation for and in public spaces.
