It all started around a table somewhere in Europe in 2003, when managers and artistic directors laid down the foundations of IN SITU, with the same hunch that the future of artistic creation in public space would play out on a European scale. The partners of IN SITU identify artists and support them as they explore new territories; they think together about our continent’s issues. This is an artistic adventure, with a long history of friendship, empathy and trust.
In addition, IN SITU partners gather now around them a circle of artists and a circle of citizens. This collaborative format reflects their conviction that sharing skills, artistic vision and plurality of perspectives is today the relevant way to ensure that artworks will resonate with a large and more diverse audience.
